4-Year Computer Science Learning Outcome Assessments Program
Using the ACM Model Curricula for Computer Science, Information Systems and Information Technology, the ICCP standards councils and representatives from many universities created the national examinations for continuous quality assessment based on learning outcomes assessment. Scenario based test questions focus on skills required by companies as well as the learning objectives set by the curriculum committees. Professional certification is optionally available to students on passing these examinations. The information is completely confidential to each college, a national score average for each learning outcome is available for each college to compare their students' performances against these national scores.
A nationally standardized exam gives outcomes (in the form of 4 reports) to evaluate your students, curriculum, and effectiveness of your programs. It provides for program improvement through longitudianl affirmation of learning outcomes, year over year. Your reports are available for life regardless of changing faculty and program leadership.

A little about ourselves
The committees meet via web-conferencing and once/year in person. They discuss the content, the changing curriculum requirements especially test item performance. All universities participating in the program are able to provide input and changes to the tests. Different versions of the test are available as institutions model their curriculum based on the changing curriculum standards. Core elements of the examination remain stable, and customized elements allow you to test for regional variations. |
