Whenever possible, the ICCP will arrange on-line remote testing. The candidate is required to have high speed internet access, a webcam and audio capabilites. This procedure is done through an on-line conferencing center and allows for testing on weekdays, evenings and weekends on an "as available" basis.
If this process is not possible, the ICCP will work with the candidate to use an ICCP representative to proctor ICCP exams. A proctor is an individual authorized by ICCP to oversee the writing of an exam by an ICCP exam taker. This person must meet specific guidelines (below) and be willing to supervise the exam taker. The ICCP reserves the right to reject proposed proctors.
Proctor Guidelines
- To eliminate conflict-of-interest problems, relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, persons living at the same address of the exam taker, or other ICCP exam takers, cannot proctor exams. The exception is if the training department of your company is involved and somebody from the human resources or training group, who normally supervises examinations, is prepared to supervise your examination in the workplace.
- Exam takers must normally write their exams at an accredited, post-secondary institution such as a community college or a technical institute. If a college or technical institute is not accessible, exam takers may write at an educational institution such as a high school. We would prefer to work through the registrar’s department at that college, university or school to set up the examination delivery.
- Exams should be written under the supervision of a professor, teacher, or an authorized proctor. Proctors can be CCP holders: professionals who ascribe to the ICCP code of ethics, code of conduct and code of good practice. Typically proctors are doctors, teachers, professors, supervisory administrative staff from the registrar’s department, lawyers, engineers, and administrative computing staff.
- Where none of these options are available, exam takers should contact ICCP to determine a suitable location and acceptable proctor.
