ICCP Code of Ethics, Conduct and Good Practice
All certificate candidates must subscribe to the Code of Ethics, Conduct and Good Practice as described in this announcement.
Entry Level Certifications
The following two entry level certifications have no professional experience requirement.
ACP - Associate Computing Professional
- Pass Information Systems Core Examination
- Pass one specialty ICCP Examination at 50% or higher
- No educational experience required.
ISA - Information Systems Analyst
- Pass the IS Assessment exam through their college.
- Transcript evidence of earning a baccalaureate degree or higher in a computing related field.
Professional Level Certifications
The following four professional level certifications have a professional experience requirement. Examinations for the selected designation must be completed successfully within 36 months from the initial test date.
CCP - Certified Computing Professional
- Pass Information Systems Core Examination at 70% or higher.
- Pass two specialty ICCP Examination at 70% or higher
- 48 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) direct experience in computer-based information systems.
Computer-based Information Systems Experience
- Acceptable: Data processing systems, programming, management and teaching computer based information systems.
- Not Acceptable: Clerical, data-entry or experience gained in connection with formal classwork.
Substitute Work Experience
Candidates having less than 48 months work experience may substitute post secondary academic work for up to 24 months of experience on the following basis, provided official transcripts of academic work are submitted to ICCP:
- 24 months ... Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in information systems or computer science.
- 24 months ... Associate Computing Professional (ACP) certification.
- 18 months ... Bachelor’s or graduate degree in related area including accounting, business, engineering, mathematics, sciences or statistics.
- 12 months ... Bachelor’s or graduate degree in non-related area.
- 12 months ... Associate degree or diploma (2 year program) in information systems or computer science.
CBIP - Certified Business Intelligence Professional
- Pass Information Systems Core Examination at 50% or higher.
- Pass Data Warehousing Examination at 50% or higher.
- Pass one IT Management Examination at 50% or higher

- Database Administration
Passing all three exams with 70% or better earns Mastery level certification.
CDMP - Certified Data Management Professional
- Pass Information Systems Core Examination at 50% or higher.
- Pass one Data Speciality Examinations at 50% or higher

- Data Warehousing
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Data & Information Quality
- Systems Security
- Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework
- Business Process Management
Passing all three exams with 70% or better earns Mastery level certification.
CITC - Certified IT Consultant
This certification program is offered along with the Independent Computer Consultants Association.
- Pass Information Systems Core Examination at 70% or higher.
- Pass IT Consultants' Examination at 70% or higher.
- Pass one specialty ICCP Examination at 70% or higher
- For programming consultants, it is recommended that you substitute two programming language examinations (JAVA, B, C++, C Language, BASIC, COBOL, etc.) for the one Specialty examination.
Other Certifications
CITCP - Certified IT Compliance Professional
CITGP - Certified IT Governance Professional
This certification program requires that you take training from the IT Governance Group - ITGG (which is a subsidiary of the SOX Institute) and meet their specified requirements. Please review their requirements directly.
